Lauer Farms is a pasture-based farm near Lagrange, OH, with a small Jersey dairy herd that grazes on fresh grass every day. Their milk is rich and contains high butterfat. The cream naturally rises to the top of the milk and can be skimmed off to make butter and ice cream. Initial investment of a herdshare is $30 per gallon (which is refundable if you decide to stop getting milk), with a maintenance cost of $30 per gallon per month. For example, if you wanted to get 2 gallons every week, you would make an initial one-time investment of $60 ($30/gallon) to "buy" a part of the herd, then the first week of every month you would pay $60 to "maintain" the part of the herd that you just "bought". In return, you would receive 2 gallons of milk every week. Feel free to text, call, or email Samuel Lauer (samueljosephlauer at gmail dot com) if you are interested and/or for more information.
